Cook For British Ski Academy at Team Evolution alpine racing
Ski Resort: Radstadt/Altenmarkt , Austria
Description
Do you want to spend the winters in the mountains helping to tutor some of Britain's up and coming winter sports athletes? We are currently recruiting for a Cook to join our Pastoral Team.
The Team Evolution alpine race academy programme is designed for athletes looking to work within a professional structure that is dedicated to their development both on and off the slopes. Team Evolution provides alpine training opportunities for committed young student-athletes who are looking to pursue their athletic and educational goals, “In Pursuit of Excellence.”
The academy training base in Radstadt, Austria provides a "home away from home" where the student athletes and staff live for the season. In a training environment focused on hard work and commitment, healthy eating and an understanding of nutrition is vitally important. The staffing team is made up of knowledgeable and committed pastoral staff, tutors, coaches who are passionate about their roles in developing the athletes and the programme, and obviously love the mountains!
In a training environment that is ever changing, the cook is needed to be flexible and happy to adapt plans at short notice, catering for between 5 and 25 people on a daily basis.
Main Objectives:
To provide 12 meals, over a 7 day period (6 lunches and 6 dinners) to athletes and staff
To assist the houseparent's with preparing, laying out and cleaning away of breakfast
To provide a fortnightly menu that will be rotated throughout the season
To shop twice a week for any ingredients that we will need for the preparation of the meals.
Ensure the kitchen, cooking area and eating spaces are kept clean and tidy
To provide support and education to athletes to allow them to make good nutritional choices, including teaching them how to prepare certain meals and snacks
* All members of Team Evolution staff will be required to assist with driving, including airport pick-ups, during the season. Applicants should have a full, clean driving license *
Remuneration:
Wages are £800 - £1,200 per month, for 5 months from mid November - mid April, based on qualifications and experience
Christmas week is off
Shared staff accommodation in resort, from the start of October to the end of April
Half Board accommodation, eating at the training base
Travel expenses at the start (October) and end (April) of the season, or transfer travel with staff

Qualification/Requirements:
Experience cooking for large groups of people
Nutritional knowledge for athletes
Post carries a requirement to under-go enhanced DBS check
Valid First Aid training
Clean driving license
Good communication skills and strong team work ethic are essential
